Stress Facts: Heart Rate Histogram

What is a Heart Rate Histogram?

The heart rate histogram is part of the personal analysis within the KENKOU Stress Guide  app. It shows the frequency of heart rate intervals within a given time (e.g. a breathing exercise or a measurement).

The highest peaks identify which heart rate intervals are the most frequent. This is not necessarily a curve like on the image below. Depending on where the most peaks are, a user’s heart rate can be classified into three different types:

  1. Tachycardia is widely used for a resting heart rate over 100 beats per minute in adults.
  2. Normocardia describes a resting heart rate between 60 and 100 beats per minute adults.
  3. Bradycardia stands for a slow resting heart rate under 60 beats per minute in adults.
